Non-denominational Christianity consists of churches which typically distance themselves from the confessionalism or creedalism of other Christian communities by not formally aligning with a specific Christian denomination. [Wikipedia]
We are a broad church with people from the Baptist, Church of England and other traditions. Perplexed at the division in the largest institution known to man, all claiming to get their teaching from the same book, our founders sat down with nothing but the Bible to try and rediscover what Christianity has clearly lost, real unity.
We claim no other name than "Christian".
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.(if you believe). (Ephesians 4:4-6). and there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; (1 Timothy 2:5)
If there is only one 'body' of believers, baptised by one 'Spirit', through one 'faith', under one God, with one mediator (go-between) between them, what are you doing in any one of many denominations? Christianity is supposed to set you free not bind you to a set of practices and regulations, that's called religion and we all know that that is the cause of an awful lot of the trouble in the world!!
The unity that is sought can only be established on the doctrine that has been rejected!!
The 'old news' was presented before Jesus died, the 'new news' was given after his ascension.
